Three Days After a MobileDeepPlane Facelift™: A Real Patient’s Early Recovery

Patient three days after a MobileDeepPlane Facelift with Dr. Mark Deuber, following eyelid surgery and a lip lift

What can recovery look like just three days after a MobileDeepPlane Facelift™—especially when additional facial procedures are performed at the same time?

This patient returned to see Dr. Mark Deuber three days after her MobileDeepPlane Facelift™, performed along with upper and lower eyelid surgery and a lip lift.

Her hemostatic netting had just been removed. There is some visible swelling, but relatively little bruising in this patient’s early recovery. And the changes to her face are already becoming apparent.

What does a facelift patient look like three days after surgery?

In this video, Cary Deuber introduces the patient at her three-day postoperative visit and points out that her hemostatic netting has just been removed.

Looking at the patient’s face, Cary remarks:

“Looking good! I mean, barely any bruising.”

Dr. Deuber agrees:

“Yeah, really not too beat up.”

The patient responds:

“Yeah, I’m excited.”

It’s a brief exchange, but it captures something that conventional before-and-after photographs often miss: what a patient actually looks like during the first several days of healing.

There is still swelling, and her final results are months away. Nevertheless, the video documents an encouraging early recovery for this particular patient.

Why was her hemostatic netting removed on Day Three?

Hemostatic netting is an important component of Dr. Deuber’s MobileDeepPlane Facelift™ technique.

It consists of temporary quilting sutures that help secure tissue layers and reduce the spaces where blood and fluid can accumulate following surgery.

By helping control postoperative bleeding and fluid accumulation, hemostatic netting may help reduce bruising and swelling during early recovery.

In this video, the netting has just been removed at the patient’s three-day postoperative visit.

The timing and extent of suture removal depend on the patient’s procedure and Dr. Deuber’s postoperative instructions. This patient’s three-day visit should not be interpreted as a universal removal schedule.

Can a facelift, eyelid surgery and a lip lift be performed together?

Yes. In selected patients, facial rejuvenation procedures can be combined into one surgical plan.

This patient underwent several procedures:

  • MobileDeepPlane Facelift™: Repositioning deeper facial tissues to improve facial contours, particularly through the lower face and jawline.
  • Upper and lower eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty): Procedures intended to address concerns involving the upper and lower eyelids.
  • Lip lift: A procedure that changes the position and proportions of the upper lip.

These procedures address different areas of the face, but they can contribute to a more coordinated overall result.

Rather than evaluating the facelift in isolation, this patient’s video provides an early look at recovery following a combination of facial procedures.

Whether procedures should be combined depends on individual anatomy, treatment goals, overall health and surgical considerations.

Is minimal bruising normal three days after a facelift?

Bruising and swelling are expected parts of recovery after facial surgery, but their severity varies considerably.

In this patient’s video, Cary Deuber specifically comments on how little bruising is visible at the three-day mark.

That observation is noteworthy because the patient underwent more than one procedure.

Dr. Deuber incorporates hemostatic netting into his MobileDeepPlane Facelift™ technique to help manage postoperative bleeding and swelling.

However, this patient’s relatively limited bruising is an individual outcome, not a guarantee of what another patient will experience.

Some patients may have more pronounced swelling, bruising or discomfort during the same stage of recovery.

Can you see facelift results after just three days?

Early changes may already be visible, but three days is far too soon to evaluate a final facelift result.

The MobileDeepPlane Facelift™ repositions deeper facial tissues rather than relying primarily on tension applied to the skin.

This approach is intended to restore facial definition while maintaining natural-looking contours.

In this patient’s case, the video shows her face shortly after surgery, with the hemostatic netting removed and relatively limited visible bruising.

But swelling can temporarily change facial contours, particularly when eyelid surgery and a lip lift have also been performed.

The appearance at three days is only one stage in a recovery process that continues over the following weeks and months.

Why is it useful to see patients during early facelift recovery?

Most people considering facial rejuvenation are familiar with before-and-after photographs.

Those photographs can be useful for evaluating results, but they rarely answer a different set of questions:

What might I look like during the first few days? How much swelling or bruising might I have? When are the temporary sutures removed? What happens when several procedures are performed together?

A real patient video recorded at a known point in recovery can help answer those questions.

One Instagram viewer commented that they appreciated seeing early recovery rather than only a six-month result.

That is exactly what makes this three-day video valuable.

It doesn’t attempt to show the finished result. It shows a real patient, three days after multiple facial procedures, at a specific and documented stage of healing.

What should you expect from your own recovery?

Every patient’s recovery is different.

The procedures performed, individual anatomy, healing response and postoperative care all influence how someone looks and feels during the first days and weeks after surgery.

This patient’s experience is encouraging, but it should not be used to predict another patient’s bruising, swelling or recovery timeline.

What the video does demonstrate is that meaningful early changes can sometimes be visible even while healing is still underway.

And for this patient, the experience at Day Three was already something to be excited about.

Considering a MobileDeepPlane Facelift™?

A personal consultation with Dr. Mark Deuber can help determine whether a MobileDeepPlane Facelift™—alone or in combination with other facial procedures—is appropriate for your anatomy and goals.
